Kemp loving it at Priory
GREAT RUN: Graham Kemp
GREAT RUN: Graham Kemp

CHRISTCHURCH boss Graham Kemp has labelled Priory's current purple patch his most enjoyable time in management.

Kemp's side have gone seven matches unbeaten in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division, boasting victories against highly-fancied Moneyfields and Wimborne Town in the process.

And former Brockenhurst boss Kemp, whose side travel to Combined Counties Premier Division leaders Cove in the FA Vase first round tomorrow (3pm), was cooing over his current crop of talent when contacted by the Echo last night.

Kemp said: "We're in the middle of a good run so we couldn't have prepared any better for the Vase tie really.

"It's not just the number of games unbeaten though - it's the opposition as well. We've played top sides during this run and won games so hats off to the lads. They've been tremendous.

"We've got a great bunch of lads. They're relaxed, they enjoy themselves, but they also switch on and it's a pleasure to be with them.

"I've had great individual results in the past, but I have to say I'm enjoying it more at the moment than I ever have."

Priory dumped Cove out of last year's competition at the first qualifying round stage, but needed a narrow 4-3 replay victory to progress.

Kemp added: "It was two evenly-matched sides and two good games to be fair, but I think both teams have improved this year.

"Any team that is top of their league at whatever level is going to be confident and as they are at home, they'll be expecting to win.

"They are very good going forward, but there are weaknesses to exploit. Defensively, we can get at them because we've been outstanding at the back this year.

"I must admit, I'll be disappointed if we don't get a positive result."

Priory are at full strength for tomorrow's trip to Farnborough.
