Kemp happy with Tunbridge draw
Graham Kemp
Graham Kemp

CHRISTCHURCH manager Graham Kemp admits his side couldn't have asked for any more after being drawn at home to Tunbridge Wells in the second round of the FA Vase.

A home tie rewards Priory for Saturday's fine win at high-flying Cove, with the match at Hurn Bridge against Kent Premier outfit Tunbridge scheduled for November 15.

"Everyone says they want a home draw and not a team from the same league, so we've got to be relatively happy," Kemp told the Daily Echo.

"It's all teams from our standard so on our day we're capable of beating anybody."

Of the other local sides, only Wimborne Town were given a home tie. They will host Wootton Bassett Town, who ply their trade one level below the Wessex Premier.

Other selected ties: Hayling United v New Milton Town, Bitton AFC v Poole Town, Shrivenham v Hamworthy United.

  • Bashley will be hoping to put Saturday's defeat at the hands of Corby Town behind them when they visit Hemel Hempstead tonight (7.45pm).

  • In the Wessex Premier League, Wimborne have the opportunity to continue their fine form when Bemerton visit Cuthbury (7.45pm).
