The Graveyard (18) *

I'm convinced that with the help of friends, access to a graveyard and a budget of £6.50, I could have produced a better horror.

This movie is unsurprising, unoriginal and about as scary as realising you've run out of milk.

It starts with a group of friends in their mid-20s playing hide and seek in a graveyard - well what fully-grown adult doesn't? The game goes wrong when a practical joke backfires and one of them is killed.

Five years later the remaining friends take a break at a remote country house, which turns out to be the stage where their friend's death is avenged.

The plot is dire, the acting woeful and the scariest thing about the film is that it leaves the door open for a sequel.
