About a Boy...

Twenty five years after he was swept from the dance-floors of London's club-land to international stardom, the ever glamourous, super-camp Boy George is back.

The man who with Culture Club scored a series of massive hits like Karma Chameleon, DoYou Really Want to Hurt Me and Church of the Poison Minds has announced a series of new dates including a concert at Bournemouth Pavilion on Friday October 24. Tickets go on sale immediately.

The latest dates follow the flamboyant singer's triumphant return to the concert stage in February this year.

After a 10 year lay-off and a roller-coaster career in which the adulation had been matched despairing lows, police raids and drug problems, critics weren't too sure what to expect.

But even though many fans would have been happy if George had just stood on a stage in front of them, his magical soul voice and outrageous showmanship once more came to the fore.

For though George's life has to some extent been a soap opera played out in the tabloids, there has always been a solid talent.

And on his return it provided a bedrock for some seriously impressive live concerts As the Evening Standard newspaper so accurately put it: "Beyond the face paint lies a great British soul voice".
