The future looks bright

Elliot Minor, Landmarc, Bournemouth
"Here's what we need - five young lads from the north equipped with guitars, drums and a cello. People will love it!"
This was the theory - a theory proven on Wednesday as the Landmarc's PA oozed a myriad of previously disassociated musical textures, cemented by their grounding in this newly established fusion of classical and pop punk. Say hello to Elliot Minor.
Following a jaunty, melodic demonstration from The Kooks' piano-clad counterpart The Days, Minor's extended set opener The White One Is Evil was evidently enjoyed the venue over, as the band arrived on stage with a frenzied explosion of vibrant energy. The York-based fivesome then went on to entertain with the ultra-catchy, harmony-laden So Here We Are, recent release Still Figuring Out, and emotive power ballad Last Call To New York. Top 20 hit Jessica followed an epic instrumental interlude, before the classically trained quintet showcased a few new songs.
Co-frontmen Ed Minton's and Alex Davies' witty banter, along with plenty of audience participation during Running Away and new single Time After Time, made or a fantastic evening which the boys rounded up with anthemic debut single Parallel Worlds - the first half being sung entirely by a clearly captivated crowd.
With nationwide tours alongside the likes of McFly and A Simple Plan, as well as numerous festival appearances already under their belt, the future looks bright for Elliot Minor.
